Gas Oil, What is it?
Gas oil is a fuel that is cheaper than normal road diesel due to it being a rebated fuel used for heating, rail transport and agricultural sector. Gas oil should never be used in any vehicles on public roads. There is a red dye added to the fuel to help the police and VOSA identify the difference between normal road diesel and the rebated fuel.
What is gas oil used for?
Today, gas oil is a mainly used as a commercial fuel in many industries for the purpose of powering machinery, generators and for vehicles used off-road, including those used in the agricultural, rail transport and marine sectors to name but a few.
